If that's what it takes to praise You, Jesus bring the rain...

08/24/10

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus Bring the Rain-Mercy Me

In God's perfect will sometimes we must go through the storm in order to know how to praise God. In Lamentations 3 it talks about God's mercies being new every morning. Sometimes you have to go into that quiet place. Lamentations 3: 31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever. 32 For though He cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. We have to go through the storm in order to understand the extent of God's love. Be of good courage and praise Him in the storm.

Be still and know that I am God...

08/22/10

I realized, while dealing with my youngest child last night, that sometimes God just holds us and let us cry. There are times when we are so upset and overwhelmed that we cannot hear God and those are the times that He just holds us until we are still. 'Be still and know that I am God'

Thank God for 'unanswered prayers'

We need to be aware of what our children are coming into contact with. One of the

Disney movies has a song that says 'I want it all...', you know, we are a lot like that. We want cars we truly can't afford because they are cute, we want big houses with high property taxes that we will probably suffer forclosure for. The great thing about God is that He always knows what is best for us and knows what we are ready for. In His wisdom He does not give us what we want, He instead gives us what we need, what we are ready for, besides, most of the time we don’t properly take care of the things that God has already blessed us with. We want more money but we are not doing the right things with the money we have, we want a bigger house when we don’t take care of the small one we have. If we are not ready for the little things God has to mature us before we are ready for the bigger things. He will give us blessings when we are ready to receive them. A blessign give at the wrong time can turn into a curse if we are not ready for it. Thank Him for ‘unanswered prayers’.

'You are not alone, I am here with you.' -- God

08/20/10

You know, we can still learn something from the world. Michael Jackson's song states 'you are not alone, I am here with you', you must understand that it is satan's duty to make us feel alone in our situation but have faith and know that today God is saying to you, 'You are not alone, I am here with you'. Because Jesus paid it all at the cross and bridged the gap between humanity and spirituality you should know that He is always with you. I had to learn that hard lesson while in labor with my first child. I felt alone because none of my family was there. I yelled at God, then I apologized to God, then I had to listen to God. What He told me was 'You have never been alone, I have always been here for you and this was the only way to show you that.' I had an easy labor, 3 1/2 hrs, and pushed 2 times and Sasha came into the world. God made a way and made sure that I understood that I was not alone. With my second child, Phoenix, I was in labor about 10 hrs and had an emergency c-section with all my family and friends there. Look at God doing things in our favor. Just like 'footprints', when you think you are alone that is when God is carrying you.

Show up and shut up!

08/19/10

Sometimes God just wants up to show up and shut up! We are always trying to figure out how things are going to work out using our finite mind against God's infinite possiblilities for instance Joshua and the battle of Jericho. Half of us would be questioning how is God going to knock down the walls of Jericho, just because we walked around them for seven days and yelled, then we would try to help God. We would rent backhoes and earth movers but we would miss the basic principle of the lesson. The whole point is that with God everything is possible and simple obedience is the answer to all out trouble. He said 'be still and know that I am God', He doesn't need our help just our obedience. He told them to shut up for six days and on the seventh when the horns sounded to yell. Show up and shut up and God will show out

Become it.

08/18/10

When you need something from God you need not ask for it, you need to ask to become it. When you ask to have something that indicates that there are times that you lack but to become something, such as to become God's peace, means that you will never live without and that you can bless others by allowing God to shine in you.
